TRIUMPH OF INNER CONVICTION OVER EXTERNAL PROPAGANDA

The clash between father, Hiranyakashipu, and son, Prahlada, was not rooted in a dispute over wealth, power, or position, but rather in conflicting ideologies. One strove for eternity in a fleeting world, while the other endeavored to experience eternality within the apparent world.

While Hiranyakashipu relentlessly tried to control all of creation, including Lord Narayana, his son truly won the heart of Sri Narayana through firm determination and the will to endure any hardship for his love and faith in the Lord.

Eventually, the clash reached its climax in the palace when Nrsimha Deva manifested to substantiate Prahlada’s words that He is everywhere and simultaneously disprove Hiranyakashipu’s claim that Vishnu is nowhere.

Prahlada’s victory is the defeat of imposed beliefs by faith. It is the triumph of inner conviction over external propaganda, and the victory of one’s natural position over pretence. His success is the confirmation of the power of love for Sri Hari over conscious hatred. Moreover, it is the win of Narada’s teachings over the materialistic lessons of Shukracharya: the absolute win of substance over superficiality.

Ultimately, Nrsimha Deva’s appearance day is a celebration of Prahlada’s faith and the kindness he demonstrated toward his father by asking Sri Nrsimha to liberate him.
